Riyadh Denounces Latest Iranian Strikes on Bahrain, Kuwait

Saudi Arabia on Saturday strongly condemned the latest Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain and Kuwait, according to Al Arabiya English.

In an official statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry reaffirmed the Kingdom’s strongest condemnation of the indiscriminate Iranian attacks and blatant violations of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait. The statement added that these attacks threaten regional and international security.

At the same time, the ministry warned that the Iranian attacks represent a serious escalation that threatens plunging the region into “tension and a destabilization of security and stability.”

It also reiterated Saudi Arabia’s position that such transgressions would undermine international efforts aimed at restoring regional peace, security, and stability.

“The Kingdom (of Saudi Arabia) reiterates its solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait,” the ministry added.

The authorities further emphasized its commitment to supporting all efforts taken to maintain the “sovereignty, security and stability” of the two countries.

Early on Saturday, Both Kuwait and Bahrain activated their air defense systems in response to incoming aerial threats.

Officials described the attacks as the second such incident in under a week amid a fragile ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

War in Iran

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran, targeting its leadership and triggering a new conflict in the Middle East.

Iran has been responding with a retaliatory counterattack in Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi, while launching barrages of missiles and drones toward Israel.

The conflict has spread across the Middle East, leaving thousands dead, triggering unprecedented disruptions to energy supplies especially after the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
