Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has carried out significant procedures to streamline the departure of Umrah pilgrims, while warning against the overstay of visas, according to Gulf News.
The ministry called on pilgrims to coordinate closely with Umrah operators to confirm travel schedules and finalize check-out procedures with hotels.
It also urged pilgrims to allow sufficient time for airport transfers, recommending arrival at least four hours before their flights
Saudi authorities stressed that all Umrah visa holders must depart the Kingdom by April 18, warning that failure to comply could trigger strict penalties, including fines, imprisonment, or deportation.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Ministry of Interior warned that citizens and residents are prohibited from transporting, employing, sheltering, or helping pilgrims who overstay their visas, emphasizing that violators will be subject to severe legal consequences.
Umrah service providers were also advised to immediately report any overstaying pilgrims, cautioning that failure to do so may incur financial fines.
