stc Wins 2 Awards “Best Technology Publication”, “Most Innovative Product” for 2025
stc Group won two awards—“Best Technology Deployment” and “Most Innovative Product”—at Telecom Review Excellence Awards 2025, in recognition of its efforts to develop digital infrastructure and telecommunications networks, and to support the Kingdom’s digital transformation objectives.
The “Best Technology Deployment” award highlights stc Group’s pioneering role in developing the fifth-generation (5G) network by operating low-band spectrum in the 600 MHz range (n71), making it the first operator in the region to move this band into the commercial deployment phase.
The Group relied on Remote Radio Unit (RRU) technology to provide wider outdoor coverage across various areas and significantly improve indoor connectivity quality, maximizing the benefits of low-frequency bands and ensuring reliable, high-quality connectivity services for both individual and enterprise customers.
stc also received the “Most Innovative Product” award for developing the Riyadh Antenna, which represents a major advancement in the efficiency and sustainability of 5G networks. The antenna features a cylindrical design that helps reduce wind resistance by 60% and cuts the number of traditional antenna towers at each site by more than 50%.
4T4R Sub-3G technology
The new antenna is equipped with 4T4R Sub-3G technology, which enhances connection quality, along with an intelligent sensing unit (AISU) that enables continuous monitoring and optimization of antenna performance, as well as remote execution of routine maintenance without the need for on-site technical teams. This innovation supports improved network management by relying on smart technologies rather than traditional infrastructure expansion.
The Telecom Review Excellence Awards are based on evaluating the performance of companies operating in the telecommunications and information technology sector. Winners are selected according to criteria that include innovation, network efficiency, and operational results. stc Group’s win of the two awards comes as recognition of its achievements in deploying advanced technologies and developing products in line with industry standards.
