US lawmakers threaten to withdraw the military from Saudi Arabia

The “Washington Times” newspaper said that a group of US Democratic representatives proposed a bill that provides for the withdrawal of all forces from Saudi Arabia, in addition to the withdrawal of missile defense systems.

A group of Democratic members of Congress expressed their dissatisfaction with the “OPEC +” decision to reduce oil production by two million barrels per day, and accordingly the bill was proposed to withdraw forces from the Gulf.

Representatives Tom Malinowski, Sean Kasten, and Susan Wilde introduced the Extreme Partnership Act. It provides for the withdrawal of all US forces from all countries in the Middle East and missile defense systems, including the Patriot and THAAD systems.

“The sharp decline in oil production in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, despite President Biden’s courtship of both countries in recent months, is an act of hostility toward the US and a clear indication that they have chosen Russia’s side in its conflict with Ukraine,” the statement read.
