US Army withdraws from Afghanistan by more than 50%
The Central Command of the US Army reported that the withdrawal of US military forces from Afghanistan had reached more than 50%. The announcement was made on Twitter.
The command indicated that it has officially handed over six facilities to the Afghan
Ministry of Defense and 14,379 pieces of equipment that will be destroyed.
“From now on, we will not update the percentage of the withdrawal process for reasons connected to the security of operations and safeguarding the safety of forces,” it said.
It is noteworthy that Washington had announced that it would withdraw all US forces from Afghanistan without conditions by September.
