
The United Defense Company Factory has announced its success in producing eight types of drones equipped with artificial intelligence technologies and high-resolution cameras.
The factory has an annual production capacity of around 300 drones of various types, with the possibility of doubling the number to 600 drones annually.
He stated that the company is in the process of opening its headquarters at Qassim University after an agreement was signed in the field of research and development.
The factory director, Fahd Al-Shammari, explained that the policies and regulations enacted by the General Authority for Military Industries have contributed to creating an attractive investment environment for both local and international investors in this vital and promising sector. He emphasized that the aircraft produced by the factory, in various sizes, whether through technology transfer or built from scratch, are entirely Saudi intellectual property and made by national hands.

The United Defense Company’s factory produces drones for civilian use in various fields, including industrial surveillance, environmental monitoring, desertification assessment, and animal detection, as well as military drones.
These drones utilize artificial intelligence, with the leading models being the “Sultanah” drone and the UD-530 RABHA “Rabha” drone. The factory also produces reconnaissance drones as part of the “Dir’ (Shield) system,” including the UD-413 smart drone, the “Shihanah” drone, the “Jassas” drone, and the UD-117S drone.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia values its military industries sector. This focus arises from a leadership initiative to localize various industries, aiming to develop the national economy and ensure sustainable prosperity.
The initiative also seeks to empower national companies and major international firms in the sector to achieve national goals, such as localizing over 50% of government spending on military equipment and services by 2030.
