Furthermore, he stressed the American commitment to maintaining Yemen’s security and stability during talks with Presidential Leadership Council Vice President Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, according to a post on X by the US Embassy in Yemen.

This endorsement follows significant preparatory steps by the Kingdom, as Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman announced on Friday that the southern cause now has a genuine, internationally-backed path forward. His statement came after southern leaders decided to dissolve the Southern Transitional Council (STC).
Consequently, the upcoming Riyadh Conference will unite representatives from all southern governorates without exclusion. Prince Khalid affirmed the conference aims to develop a comprehensive vision reflecting the will of the southern people.
Saudi Arabia will form a preparatory committee in consultation with southern figures to organize the proceedings. The conference seeks just solutions for all participants. Ultimately, the Kingdom will fully support the conference’s outcomes. These results will then integrate into the broader comprehensive political solution for Yemen.
