Students Compete in “Ibdaa 2026” to Represent Saudi Arabia Internationally

The 16th edition of the Ibdaa Science and Engineering Fair is set to launch next Sunday. Organized by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education, the fair will take place at the Princess Nouf bint Abdulaziz International Conference Center and continue until January 29.
As the fifth stage of the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity “Ibdaa 2026”, the fair will showcase 200 scientific projects from students who qualified through the central exhibition phase, covering 22 scientific fields. These projects were selected from more than 34,000 submissions to the Olympiad.
Moreover, 68 winners—both male and female—will earn the opportunity to represent Saudi Arabia at several international and regional competitions, including the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in the United States, ITEX in Malaysia, and TAISEF in Taiwan.
The fair will also feature workshops, scientific and educational lectures, and informational pavilions from Mawhiba and other knowledge partners. Moreover, these activities aim to enhance visitors’ experiences, promote a culture of research and innovation, and highlight national initiatives supporting giftedness and creativity.
“Ibdaa 2026” reflects the ongoing collaboration between Mawhiba and the Ministry of Education to nurture talent, foster innovation, and strengthen scientific research culture among students, contributing to the development of a national generation equipped to drive the knowledge economy and advance the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
