Space Madak Competition Attracts 80,000 Arab Students

The Saudi Space Agency announced the end of the registration phase for its “Space Madak” competition. The total number of registered people reached more than 80,000 creative and talented people.

This competition is the largest competitions in the field of space science in the Arab world. It reflects the growing passion for the field of space and scientific exploration in the Arab world. Additionally, it confirms the great interest of Arab students in participating in this pioneering event in the field of space.

Saudi astronaut Rayyanah Barnawi pointed out the importance of this competition in promoting a culture of research and innovation in the field of space science, and motivating students to be interested in developing their scientific and innovative skills.

She also stressed that the competition aims to motivate Arab students to conduct unique and inspiring experiments in the field of space. It also provides an opportunity for the winners to participate in distinguished scientific and research projects.

The “Space Madak” competition includes 3 main tracks: arts, plants, and engineering. Moreover,  the winners can benefit from cash prizes of up to 500,000 riyals, in addition to a unique opportunity to send their winning projects to the International Space Station (SSI).

It is worthy to note that  the Saudi Space Agency is the organizer of the competition. Results will be announced post evaluation by a scientific committee. It extends Saudi leadership in space at Arab and regional levels. The initiative aims to support and motivate Arab students, enriching their contribution to space science.
