Second Phase of Localizing Aviation Professions Starts

The second phase of localizing licensed aviation professions has come into effect as of Monday, in private sector facilities, reported News 24. Five or more workers in one of the targeted aviation professions work in these facilities.

The professions targeted in the second phase of the decision include a flight attendant and a fixed-wing pilot.  Workers in the targeted aviation professions must obtain a professional accreditation certificate provided by the General Authority of Civil Aviation.

The ministry explained that the decision is part of its efforts, in partnership with the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, to provide stable jobs for citizens.

Moreover, the ministry is keen on implementing the second phase of localizing licensed aviation professions. It is keen on enabling private sector facilities to access all the support and employment programs offered by the Human Resources and Social Development ecosystem. These programs will assist them in employing and attracting national talents.

The ministry has also issued a procedural guide that clarifies all the details of the decision and its implementation mechanism. The guide also includes the support and employment programs offered to private sector facilities.

Localization of Targeted Professions

Moreover, the Ministry of Human Resources announced the localization of 34.79% of the targeted professions in the employment and maintenance sector. The ministry, through its official page on X, explained that approximately 160.84 thousand employees have been hired, reported Mubasher.

The decision approves the documentation service for employment and maintenance contracts Saudization initiative in public entities as an electronic service.

This service is part of the electronic services provided by the ministry through the “Qiwa” platform. However, the decision requires establishments with employment and maintenance contracts with public entities to upload the data of these contracts on Qiwa platform.
