Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) President Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi affirmed Saudi Arabia’s global leadership in promoting responsible innovation in the fields of advanced technologies, reported Saudi Press Agency.
This innovation in technologies ensures a balance between discussions on the future of technology, its profound impact on societies and the importance for everyone to benefit from technical progress.
The balance should be in line with preserving the values and security, in light of the advanced technical revolution that the world is experiencing in various technical fields, most notably data technologies and artificial intelligence.
This president’s words were part of a speech he delivered at the G2G Ministerial Meeting on Internet Safety that took place during the #ATxSummit. The Information, Communications and Media Development Authority organized the summit in Singapore under the slogan “Reshaping Technology for a Better Future”.
A number of Ministers of Communications, Technology, Artificial Intelligence, experts and specialists in data and intelligence from different countries of the world participated in the summit.
The president also highlighted SDAIA efforts in striking a balance between monitoring the impact of technologies and benefiting from them, including what is provided by the legislative environment initiative for data and privacy. The initiative was presented to small and medium-sized companies, startups, and entrepreneurs as a platform for experimentation and growth.
