
Saudi weightlifter Abdullah Al-Qaisoom clinched the silver medal in the 110 kg category at the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championship, held yesterday in Kazakhstan. The event brought together more than 199 athletes representing 23 countries.
This marks Saudi Arabia’s second medal of the tournament. Mohammed Alharbi, President of the Saudi Weightlifting Federation and General Secretary of the Asian Weightlifting Federation, praised the team’s early preparation as a key factor behind their strong performance. He also highlighted the widespread popularity of weightlifting across Asia and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to nurturing a new generation of athletes for success on both continental and global stages.
