Saudi Students to Return to Schools on Monday

More than 1.6 million students will return to schools in Riyadh Region on Monday 6, Shawwal, 1445 Hijri, corresponding to April 15, 2024, to resume the third semester after Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Eid al-Fitr vacation for students and teachers in Saudi Arabia started on March 28 and lasted for 17 days.

Dr. Naif Al-Zari’, Director General of Education in Riyadh Region, congratulated all students and members of the General Directorate of Education on Eid al-Fitr, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The official spokesperson of the General Directorate of Education in Riyadh, Abdul Salam al-Thumairi, said that the morning assembly in all schools will start on 6:15 am KSA (GMT+3), while the first class will begin on 6:30 am KSA.

Al-Thumairi revealed that the General Directorate of Education in Riyadh has launched an awareness campaign to promote school discipline among students at various educational stages, under the theme “Your Discipline has an Impact.”

He stressed the positive and powerful role that families play in motivating their children to attendance discipline, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between family and school in enhancing school discipline.

Al-Thumairi added that the awareness campaign will extend throughout the third semester of the academic year 1445 Hijri.

It focuses on study periods during Ramadan, before exams and after vacations. It targets students in general education, the members of the teaching and administrative staff, families and parents.
