Saudi Naval Fleet’s increase brings the tally of national ships to (426)
The Public Transport Authority announced the raising of the Saudi flag on the two marine tankers “Sara” and “Hessa”.
The two tankers were registered at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
The two giant ships will join the Saudi naval fleet, bringing the total of national ships carrying the Kingdom’s flag to 426 ships with a tonnage exceeding 13.5 million tons, which increases the tonnage capacity of the Saudi naval fleet and enhances its position as a global logistics center.
The two new bulk carriers are one of the national carriers owned and operated by the Saudi National Shipping Company (Bahri), and they are Hyundai models, each with a tonnage of (43735) thousand metric tons, with these two tankers, the number of bulk carriers in the Saudi fleet becomes (8) vectors.
The registration of tankers under the Kingdom’s flag comes as one of the strategic objectives that the Public Transport Authority seeks to achieve in a way that enhances the Kingdom’s leading position in the field of international maritime transport.
It further contributes to achieving the objectives of the national strategy for transport and logistics and consolidates the Kingdom’s position on the map of shipping and global marine supply chains.
