Saudi Minister Explores Advanced Manufacturing Partnerships with Singaporean Agencies
Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, held discussions with key Singaporean agencies, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. The meetings aimed to enhance collaboration and leverage Singapore’s expertise in sustainable economic growth, small and medium enterprise development, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
Accompanied by Dr. Abdullah Al-Ahmari, Assistant Minister for Planning and Development, and other officials, Al-Khorayef met with prominent Singaporean leaders. Discussions focused on building partnerships and benefiting from Singapore’s economic development strategies.
Key Meetings and Discussions
Al-Khorayef met with Mr. Beh Swan Gin, Chairman of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). The talks centered on cooperation opportunities and how Saudi Arabia could benefit from EDB’s expertise.
Additionally, Al-Khorayef engaged with Lee Chuan Teck, Chairman of Enterprise Singapore, to explore ways to enhance innovation, capacity building, and transformation. He also discussed with Meinhardt Group’s Head of Industry 4.0 about integrating advanced technologies to boost efficiency and innovation.
Advancing Technological Collaboration
In a significant meeting with the CEO of the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (ASTAR), discussions highlighted the potential for collaboration. ASTAR, known for its global leadership in science and technology, offers expertise that spans several sectors, including digital economy, urban sustainability, and advanced manufacturing.
Part of a Broader East Asia Tour
These meetings occurred during Al-Khorayef’s official visit to Singapore, part of a broader East Asia tour that includes China. The tour aims to strengthen bilateral ties, attract quality investments to Saudi Arabia, and explore mutual industrial investment opportunities.
