Saudi Commerce Permits Licenses for National Day Discounts
The Ministry of Commerce announced the availability of applications for seasonal discount licenses for the 94th Saudi National Day, for commercial establishments and electronic stores, electronically via: sales.mc.gov.sa.
The ministry said that the discount period for consumers starts from September 16 until September 30, 2024.
The electronic submission aims to enable establishments and online stores to easily obtain discount licenses, print them, and display them to consumers, without losing days from the annual discount balance.
The consumer can verify the legality and validity of the discounts by scanning the “barcode” displayed on the discount permit with their mobile phone camera. This will show all the information related to the discounts, including the “type and percentage of discounts, their duration, as well as the establishment’s details.”
The Ministry emphasized that these inspection tours are part of its efforts to protect consumer rights and ensure fair trade practices. It urged all businesses to comply with regulations regarding discounts and promotions.
The Ministry also encouraged consumers to report any discrepancies or suspicious activities they encounter during their shopping experience. This aims to foster a transparent and trustworthy marketplace that benefits both consumers and businesses.
