Saudi General Commission for Audiovisual Media is about to open several new cinemas in the Kingdom, soon, in more than one region.
Omar Abu Bakr, a spokesman for the commission, stated in a telephone interview to one of the channels that the commission is preparing to open some cinemas in four cities.
It is expected that the first cinema will open in the first quarter of 2022, in Najran and Arar, Al-Ahsa, and Yanbu governorates.
He pointed out that during the current period, some cinemas will be opened in the cities and governorates where cinemas have already opened.
Abu Bakr added that the number of cinemas in the Kingdom is expected to reach 70, distributed over all regions of the Kingdom, by the end of 2022, according to the plans of cinema operators.
