Saudi Crown Prince hails results of Sharm El-Sheikh summit

HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, expressed his thanks and appreciation to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for hosting the second edition of the “Green Middle East Initiative Summit”, which took place in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh.

“I am pleased to express to Your Excellency my deepest gratitude and appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality I received and the accompanying delegation.” The Saudi Crown Prince said in a cable sent to President Sisi following his departure.

“I would like to thank your Excellency for hosting the Green Middle East Summit in its second edition, its objectives, which will be achieved, God willing, through concerted efforts and active participation from the countries of the region, leading to more prosperity for our peoples,” HRH, Saudi Crown Prince added.

The Saudi Crown Prince hosted the first edition of the Green Middle East Initiative summit in Riyadh in October 2021. The summit enabled the first-ever regional dialogue on climate; the participating leaders from more than 20 countries agreed on the need to cooperate and unite efforts to confront climate change.

On the other hand, Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a series of meetings with some leaders participating in the Sharm el-Sheikh summit; Where he met “separately” with Iraqi President Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Tunisia Najla Boden, and Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council in Sudan, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.

The meetings between the Saudi Crown Prince and the leaders dealt with a review of bilateral relations between the Kingdom and their countries. In addition, they reviewed the topics on the agenda of the Green Middle East Initiative summit, and the efforts made to confront climate change.
