Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Postponed Due to Ongoing Regional Concerns

Saudi Sports Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal confirmed that the fifth round of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix has been postponed due to the current regional situation, according to the Saudi Gazette.

Al-Faisal said that said that organizers postponed the round, scheduled for April 17–19 at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, after outlining the reasons linked to the current regional situation.

Earlier, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile and Formula One unveiled that the Bahrain Grand Prix and the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, scheduled for April, will not be held on their originally planned dates. Moreover, races in Formula 2, Formula 3 and F1 Academy will also be delayed.

While alternatives were taken into consideration, no replacement races will be held in April.

“We respect the decision of the FIA and Formula 1 not to hold the race at the scheduled time. We reaffirm to the international sporting community that the Kingdom was fully prepared to host this event, which it has successfully staged five times previously with excellence and distinction,” Prince Abdulaziz said.

He further underscored that Saudi Arabia remains a reliable and sought-after destination for athletes and sports enthusiasts from across the globe.
