Saudi Arabia, US sign 18 agreements and memoranda of cooperation
Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and the ministers of investment, communications, and health in Saudi Arabia signed with their counterparts in the United States 18 agreements and memoranda of cooperation in the fields of energy, investment, communications, space, and health, on the sidelines of US President Joe Biden’s visit to the Kingdom.
According to what was published by the Saudi Press Agency “SPA”, these agreements come in light of what the “Kingdom’s Vision 2030”, led by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, provides for wide opportunities to invest in promising sectors, and for the benefit of the two friendly countries and peoples.
Among the agreements signed between the two sides, 13 were signed by the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Investment, the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, and some private sector companies, with a group of leading American companies, such as Boeing Aerospace Industries, Raytheon Defense Industries, Medtronic, and Digital Diagnostics. , IKVIA in the healthcare sector, and several other US companies specializing in energy, tourism, education, manufacturing, and textiles.
The Saudi Space Authority also signed with the US Space Agency “NASA” the “Artemis” agreement to explore the moon and Mars with “NASA”, to join the international coalition in the field of city exploration and the use of the moon, Mars, comets, and asteroids for peaceful purposes.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology signed a memorandum of cooperation with IBM, a leading company in the field of digital technology, to qualify 100,000 young men and women over five years as part of eight innovative initiatives aimed at strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a pivotal center for technology and innovation in the Middle East and North Africa region.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology also signed a memorandum of cooperation with the US National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), which includes the two countries’ cooperation in the fields of fifth and sixth-generation technologies.
This is to accelerate the growth of the digital economy and enhance the pace of research, development, and innovation in the Kingdom’s digital system.
The two countries signed a partnership agreement in the fields of clean energy, which includes defining areas and projects of cooperation in this field, and enhancing the two countries’ efforts in spreading clean energy and climate action, including cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

The Saudi and American ministries of health also signed a memorandum of cooperation in the fields of public health, medical sciences, and research, aimed at supporting and strengthening existing relations in the fields of public health between individuals, organizations, and institutions.
The memorandum aims to unify efforts to confront public health issues and medical, scientific, and research challenges, exchange information, experts, and academics, in addition to joint training for workers in health and medical fields, proper application of health information systems, research, development, and health innovation.
