Saudi Arabia and the US have kicked off the Quincy-1 joint military exercises in California, according to the Saudi Ministry of Defense.
On Wednesday, the Saudi Royal Land Forces and the US Army launched the joint drill at Fort Irwin training base in California.

The Quincy-1 joint military exercise aim to strengthen operational readiness, exchange expertise, and enhance integration in joint operations across various combat environments, the Defense Ministry said.
Fort Irwin is located in southern California’s Mojave Desert. It is home to the National Training Center, spanning an area of approximately 3,108 square kilometers.
It provides soldiers with realistic combat training that simulates challenging deployment conditions, ensuring Army units’ preparedness for combat.
In September 2025, Saudi Arabia and the US conducted Red Sands 2025 drill, the largest live-fire counter-drone exercise in the Middle East designed to improve the detection, tracking and elimination of modern drone threats.
The drill took place at the Shamal-2 Range in northeastern Saudi Arabia, with the participation of more than 300 personnel who fielded 20 counter-drone systems.
It focused on boosting cooperation among regional partners to counter the rapidly-growing threat of attack drones and marked the culmination of the rapid prototyping and new defensive tactics developed since the launch of the exercise in 2023.
