During a ministerial session of the UN Security Council in New York, Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Alwasil, reaffirmed the Kingdom’s steadfast support for Sudan’s unity and sovereignty.
Alwasil strongly condemned recent drone attacks carried out by the Rapid Support Forces against civilian and humanitarian sites, including a military hospital and a World Food Program convoy, describing them as serious violations of international law.
He also emphasized Saudi Arabia’s continued diplomatic engagement, particularly through the Jeddah negotiations and coordination with the United States and regional partners, aimed at achieving a comprehensive political settlement to the conflict.
Saudi Arabia has provided $3.1 billion in assistance to Sudan to date, reflecting its firm commitment to supporting the Sudanese people amid the ongoing crisis.
