Saudi Arabia to Host Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum for First Time outside UNIDO

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources will host the 2nd edition of the Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum (MIPF) 2024 on Wednesday and Thursday, October 23 and 24, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Under the auspicious of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the forum will take place in Riyadh, marking the first time to be held outside the organization’s headquarters in Vienna.

Themed “Transforming Challenges into Sustainable Solutions through Industrial Policies”, the forum will bring together 3000 industry leaders from around the world, alongside with decision-makers, CEOs and specialists in the industrial sector.

The forum’s agenda includes a ministerial roundtable meeting gathering ministers and leaders of industrial transformation around the world to discuss the following topics:

  • Reviewing the industrial policies, their challenges and proposed solutions
  • Holding dialogue sessions to tackle the use of clean energy sources in industry
  • Highlighting the most prominent global practices to enhance flexibility in supply chains
  • Showcasing the latest digital technologies in manufacturing, notably the artificial intelligence (AI)

The MIPF represents a valuable opportunity for the Kingdom to impress the world with its outstanding accomplishments in the industrial sector.

Furthermore, Saudi Arabia will organize a flagship exhibition to present Saudi initiatives and efforts to localize promising industries and highlight the investment opportunities in this growing sector.

The forum also stands as a testament to the harmony between the industrial sector and the Saudi Vision 2030 under the umbrella of the National Industrial Strategy to boost the competitiveness and innovation in all Saudi Arabia’s industries.
