Saudi Arabia is set to host the 11th Ministerial Conference of the Least Developed Countries (LDCMC11) on November 22, under the theme “Driving Inclusive Industrialization: Investment, Innovation, and Partnerships in LDCs.”
The event is organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, and will precede UNIDO’s 21st General Conference, also hosted in Riyadh.
This high-level conference represents a key global platform for addressing industrial development challenges in the world’s least developed countries (LDCs). It highlights the international community’s continued commitment to supporting 44 nations across Africa, Asia, the Pacific, and the Caribbean.
Advancing Inclusive Industrialization in LDCs
The conference aims to enhance access to financing, promote knowledge and technology exchange, stimulate trade, and strengthen LDCs’ participation in regional and global value chains.
Central to the discussions will be three main pillars — investment and financing, innovation, and strategic partnerships. Delegates will explore innovative financial mechanisms to mobilize both domestic and international capital in support of sustainable industrial growth. The role of development finance institutions and multilateral banks will also be highlighted.
Additionally, the conference will address transformative industrial policies for irreversible graduation, focusing on strategies that promote diversification, value addition, and technological advancement in LDCs.
Uniting for Progress by Innovation
The event will open with a high-level session titled “Uniting for Progress by Innovation,” followed by a ministerial dialogue on fostering environments that attract sustainable investment, nurture innovation ecosystems, and build inclusive industrial capabilities.
These sessions will also emphasize the importance of aligning national priorities with global opportunities, encouraging regional integration and public-private partnerships as drivers of industrial transformation.
By hosting this conference, Saudi Arabia reaffirms its growing leadership in sustainable industrial development and international cooperation. The Kingdom continues to serve as a bridge between developed and developing economies, championing inclusive and sustainable growth.
Saudi Arabia will further solidify this role by hosting UNIDO’s 21st General Conference in Riyadh from November 23 to 27, 2025.
Finally, the gathering will welcome representatives from 173 member states, along with leaders from governments, the private sector, and international organizations — underscoring the Kingdom’s pivotal position as a global partner in advancing industrial development.
