Saudi Arabia and Thailand are working together to enhance bilateral relations and further collaboration in various fields.
As part of these efforts, the Saudi Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, and Chairman of the General Food Security Authority, Eng. Abdulrahman Alfadley, met on Sunday with the Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maris Sangiampongsa, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, and ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of agriculture, food security and environment. Their discussion focused on consolidating cooperation in food security, livestock sector development, and increasing vegetation cover.

Several high-level officials attended the meeting, including the Governor of the General Food Security Authority, Eng. Ahmed Al-Fares; the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Eng. Ahmed Aliadh; the Deputy Minister for Environmental Affairs, Dr. Osama Faqeeha; the CEO of the National Center for Vegetation Development and Combating Desertification, Dr. Khaled Al-Abdul Qadir; the CEO of SALIC, Sulaiman AlRumaih; and the Director General of the General Department of International Cooperation, Eng. Abdulaziz Alhowaish.
Thailand Board of Investment
Separately, the Saudi Ministry of Investment, in cooperation with the Thailand Board of Investment and the Thai Embassy in Riyadh, inaugurated on Sunday the Saudi-Thai Investment Forum.

The Saudi Minister of Investment, Khalid Al-Falih, and Thailand’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maris Sangiampongsa, attended the opening ceremony, along with several officials and executives from both countries.
In his opening remarks, Al-Falih underscored the depth of relations between Saudi Arabia and Thailand, expressing his desire to strengthen trade and investment relations between both countries.

According to Al-Falih, bilateral trade reached around $9bn in 2023, up from $7.5bn in 2022. Meanwhile, 200,000 Saudis traveled to Thailand and more than 30,000 Thais visited Saudi Arabia during 2023.
The Saudi-Thai Investment Forum aims to further partnership between both countries, enhance investment and trade cooperation, and facilitate investment opportunities for Saudi and Thai investors in all fields.

During the Forum, the Thailand Board of Investment announced the opening of an office in Riyadh to emphasize the strategic partnership, promote economic cooperation, and enhance trade.
The Forum also witnessed the signing of 11 agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between Saudi Arabia and Thailand in various fields, including agriculture and food, tourism, infrastructure, and energy.
