Saudi Arabia ranks fourth in importing building materials from Egypt

Egypt’s Export Council for Building and Construction Materials revealed that the sector’s exports to Saudi Arabia increased by about 102% during the first 6 months of 2022.

 

It recorded $290 million, compared to $144 million during the same period in 2021.

 

The Council reported that Saudi Arabia is the fourth largest importer of Egyptian building materials, as it came after Italy, to which the sector’s exports recorded $392 million.

 

It is noteworthy that exports of building materials jumped during the first 6 months of 2022 – the period from January to June – by about 20%.

 

It recorded 3 billion and 693 million dollars, compared to 3 billion and 80 million dollars during the same period in 2021.

 

Marble and granite exports rose by about 8% during the first 6 months of 2022 – the period from January to June.

 

It recorded 171 million dollars, compared to 158 million dollars during the same period in 2021.

 

Ceramic exports plunged by about 10% during the first 6 months of 2022 – the period from January to June – to a record 90 million dollars, compared to 100 million dollars during the same period in 2021.
