Saudi Arabia Launches Generative AI Training Initiative

A new professional training program in generative artificial intelligence has been launched at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran. The initiative is spearheaded by the Gen AI Academy in collaboration with the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) and NVIDIA. It aims to develop the next generation of AI talent in Saudi Arabia.
AI Training Initiative
This program is the first step in a broader plan to train 4,000 Saudi citizens in generative AI. The initiative seeks to enhance participants’ expertise, foster innovation, and bolster Saudi Arabia’s position as a global leader in the field of artificial intelligence, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The program is designed for individuals with a strong background in computer science or related disciplines, including academic professionals and industry practitioners. Training materials, developed by certified Saudi experts in partnership with NVIDIA, include advanced and up-to-date content.
Moreover, participants will engage in a combination of virtual self-learning modules and hands-on, interactive workshops. Upon completion, they will receive professional certifications accredited by NVIDIA, widely regarded as leading credentials in the generative AI domain.
Finally, this initiative aligns with SDAIA’s efforts to promote education and build national AI capabilities, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s status as a data- and AI-driven economy.
