Saudi Arabia Expands eVisa Program, Welcomes Tourists Worldwide

The Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) reiterated its welcome to all tourists from across the world, expanding its electronic visa program to include more countries, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The eVisa program now includes citizens of the Commonwealth, the Bahamas, Barbados, and Grenada.

The STA said that citizens of these three countries who wish to visit Saudi Arabia and explore its magnificent tourist and cultural destinations can now apply for an electronic visa before travelling or upon arrival at any of the Kingdom’s border crossings, whether for tourism, or for attending events, exhibitions and conferences.

This move reflects the efforts of the tourism sector and its governmental partners to provide more facilities to the Kingdom’s visitors, and to continue improving tourist experience. It also seeks to enrich their journey to Saudi tourist attractions, to enjoy the natural, climatic and cultural diversity, and the rich events agenda all around the Kingdom’s regions throughout the year.

The STA invited the citizens of these countries who wish to visit the Kingdom to go to the official site of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (www.mofa.gov.sa) for more details and information, and to learn more about the facilities provided.

Since the introduction of the electronic tourist visas in the last quarter of 2019, new facilities have been announced to include more segments, with the aim of attracting more tourists, ensuring a unique tourist experience, and achieving the objectives of the National Tourism Strategy to establish Saudi Arabia’s position on the global tourism map.

These facilities also aim to provide an integrated system of services and offers to tourists. This would increase the number of jobs in the tourism sector to 1 million jobs, and raise the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by more than 10% by 2030.

Through Visit Saudi website (https://www.visitsaudi.com), all the Kingdom’s visitors can choose the suitable visa type after submitting the initial information, and reviewing various tourist packages, event agendas, and several inspiring tourist experiences.
