These deceptive ads promised pilgrim housing, transportation within holy sites, and counterfeit Hajj bracelets, exploiting unsuspecting devotees. Fraudulent offers included performing Hajj on others’ behalf and distributing unapproved sacrificial animals, violating strict pilgrimage regulations.
The ministry confirmed the suspects targeted vulnerable pilgrims through misleading social media posts, bypassing official Hajj permit systems. Their illegal services lacked government approvals, risking public safety and religious sanctity. Counterfeit bracelets, often sold to mimic legitimate pilgrimage credentials, further exacerbated the scams.
