Saudi Arabia, China Co-Chair 5th Belt and Road Energy Subcommittee Meeting

Saudi Arabia and China have co-chaired the fifth Belt and Road, Major Projects and Energy Subcommittee meeting, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Led jointly by Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) Chairman Zheng Shanjie, the meeting was held via videoconference.

The meeting underscored the commitment of both sides to boosting the deep-rooted strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and China.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the remarkable progress of the Saudi–Chinese relations and explored new horizons to foster cooperation in priority sectors.

They also underscored opportunities under Saudi Vision 2030 and China’s Belt and Road Initiative to broaden avenues of collaboration and achieve mutual benefits.

Saudi and Chinese officials also tackled cooperation across energy, investment, industry, minerals, space, water, transport, as well as major projects.

Moreover, both sides agreed to continue their coordination on issues of mutual interest, bolster the alignment of their development strategies, and advance concrete cooperation.

Serving as a key platform for supporting the Saudi-Chinese cooperation, the subcommittee advances projects and initiatives of mutual interest in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
