Saudi Arabia chairs the 20th conference of the Advisory Board of (UNCCT).

Last Sunday, Abdallah Al-Mouallimi, the Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, chaired the 20th conference of the Advisory Board of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Center (UNCCT).

The conference addressed the 2019 annual report and the report on the most relevant initiatives of the UNCCT during the first quarter of 2020.

The meeting reviewed the UNCCT programs “supporting Member States in the prosecution, rehabilitation and reintegration of persons suspected or convicted of terrorist acts, including foreign terrorist fighters and their families.”

The event also included a presentation on the response of the UNCCT to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The conference was held by Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Office for Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), Vladimir Voronkov, Director of UNCCT, Jehangir Khan, and a Saudi delegation.

The Center shall inform the Advisory Board on the progress of the execution of its programs and initiatives on a quarterly basis.
