Jeddah hosted the inaugural session of the Saudi-Algerian Technical Committee for Maritime Transport and Ports from April 28 to 30.
Over the course of three days, the committee focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in maritime transport and port operations. Discussions addressed a range of shared interests, including the implementation of the cooperation agreement previously signed by both nations.

As part of the visit, the Algerian delegation toured the Transport General Authority’s (TGA) Makkah branch to gain insights into the Ebhar platform for yacht tourism, which oversees the entry, sailing, and departure processes for yachts within Saudi territorial waters.

The delegation also visited Jeddah Islamic Port to observe the port’s monitoring and inspection systems in action.
Additionally, a meeting was held with the Faculty of Maritime Studies at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, where both sides explored opportunities for academic collaboration.
