The Red Sea Fund unveiled its final pick of long-awaited projects that will get funding on Tuesday.

After receiving more than 650 cash advances, the fund will assist more than 90 carefully selected initiatives from Saudi Arabia, Arab and African countries in its debut season.

More than 28 talented Saudi filmmakers will get support, with Saudi directors accounting for 54 percent of the total.

The Red Sea Fund will also give extensive and diverse assistance for national talents, including 11 Saudi projects covering a wide range of issues and concepts.

Thirteen Saudi projects will receive funding for production, while two will receive funding for post-production.

Financial assistance

In this regard, three specialist committees have been constituted in each of the fund’s support departments, including one to help projects in the development phase and another to support initiatives that are already underway. The Red Sea Film Festival Foundation established the fund in June.
