Red Sea Film Festival Partners with Annecy to Boost Saudi Animation Industry

The Red Sea International Film Festival has announced a strategic three-year partnership with CITIA, the organizer of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. The collaboration—formalized in Jeddah through a memorandum of understanding signed by Red Sea Film Foundation CEO Faisal Baltyuor and CITIA CEO Mickaël Marin. It aims to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s animation sector and elevate its global profile.
Beginning in 2026, the partnership will roll out several key initiatives, including programs to develop Saudi talent, expand international collaboration through professional networking and knowledge exchange, and host an annual event at Culture Square in Historic Jeddah showcasing Annecy Festival works, workshops, and family activities.
The agreement also includes training workshops and exchange programs facilitated through CITIA’s international network.
