RDIA Announces Support for Research Laboratories Worth 312M

The Research, Development and Innovation Development Authority (RDIA ) announced the launch of its first financing package worth 312 million Saudi riyals. The program aims to support research laboratories in the Kingdom.

The announcement was made in the presence of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Research, Development and Innovation Development Authority, Abdullah Al-Sawaha, and the Minister of Education Yousef Al-Bunyan.

The program also aims to develop the Kingdom’s infrastructure by enhancing research centers and laboratories in alignment with the national research priorities set by His Highness the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

During the signing ceremony, 30 winning research entities, comprising universities, national laboratories, hospitals, and private entities, were announced from various regions of the Kingdom. These entities span across diverse scientific fields, with 41% focused on human health, 27% on sustainability, 19% on energy and industry leadership, and 13% on future economies.

Furthermore, this program marks a significant step in enhancing the research sector in the Kingdom’s dedication to supporting scientific institutions as part of Vision 2030.

The National Portal for Open Access to Funded Research Infrastructure in the Kingdom was also announced, with the aim of facilitating entities’ access to research infrastructure in support of innovators and encouraging open innovation.
