The FIA Extreme H World Cup—the world’s first hydrogen-powered motorsport—has confirmed Qiddiya City, Saudi Arabia, as the host of its inaugural race, scheduled for October 9–11, 2025.
Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Tuwaiq Mountains, the event will unfold at a purpose-built off-road location. Qiddiya City, currently undergoing rapid development to become a premier motorsport destination, will provide a striking venue that reflects Saudi Arabia’s ambitious motorsport vision.
Landmark for Innovation
Central to this vision is the newly revealed Speed Park Track, a state-of-the-art circuit featuring dramatic elevation changes, the iconic 20-storey “Blade” turn, and seamless integration with major entertainment landmarks, including Six Flags Qiddiya and Aquarabia. The track highlights Qiddiya City’s commitment to innovation and world-class racing experiences.
Qiddiya City and Extreme H share a strong commitment to sustainability. The city is targeting net-zero carbon emissions by 2060, supported by measures such as:
- 100% wastewater reuse
- Renewable energy infrastructure
- Electric vehicle charging in 80% of parking spaces
As part of the Saudi Green Initiative, Qiddiya City will also prioritize tree planting, contributing to the national goal of planting 10 billion trees by 2030 to combat desertification, enhance biodiversity, and improve air quality.
Transition from Extreme E to Extreme H
Racing activities in Saudi Arabia will begin with the Extreme E Desert X Prix on October 4–5, concluding the previous championship. Extreme H will then take center stage from October 9–11, marking the beginning of a new era in motorsport.
