Over 320 Million Calls Recorded in Makkah, Madinah During 1st Half of Ramadan

The Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) announced that the telecommunications networks in Makkah and Madinah demonstrated strong performance during the first half of Ramadan, handling over 320 million calls. Makkah accounted for 184 million local calls and 21 million international calls, while Madinah recorded 107 million local calls and 10 million international calls.

Commission statistics revealed that 5G coverage reached 98% in Makkah and 99% in Madinah. Average daily data consumption per person far exceeded global benchmarks, with Makkah recording 1190MB (three times the global average) and Madinah reaching 1495MB (four times the global average). Mobile internet speeds averaged 210 Mbps in Makkah and 278 Mbps in Madinah.
