NEOM Tech & Digital Co. Launches Major Cloud Infrastructure Project with Oracle
Oracle announced that NEOM Digital Technology, which operates the first cognitive digital ecosystem in NEOM, has selected the Oracle Dedicated Region Cloud@Customer to create a modern, scalable platform for all critical IT critical tasks.
Neom will have access to a list of public cloud services from Oracle Cloud.
Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Fusion Cloud applications will address data location and latency requirements and reduce operating costs for the 36MW ZeroPoint DC data center.
“NEOM’s vision of building the world’s first cognitive community requires the use of the latest digital technologies,” said Richard Smith, Oracle’s Executive Vice President of Technology for EMEA.
The Oracle Dedicated Region Cloud@Customer is designed to address critical location data and privacy requirements, enhancing our customers’ ability to operate an autonomous region in which all hosted data is stored locally.
With these characteristics, it represents the ideal framework for achieving NEOM’s goals and vision.”
Through this service, NEOM will be able to increase the speed of business operations and accelerate innovation by accessing new cloud services locally when launched by Oracle in public cloud areas.
NEOM will also be able to reduce database management costs by up to 80 percent and use its resources to focus on innovations.
Oracle Dedicated Region Cloud@Customer is a standalone cloud region that provides all the benefits of a public cloud without leaking customer data out of a NEOM data center, noting that no other cloud provider offers a full-featured public cloud with all services on-premises.
NEOM will be able to securely operate its entire portfolio of IT businesses on a single-tenant, resilient cloud that features SLAs for availability, management, and performance as a single availability domain in Oracle’s public cloud.
