MWL to Organize “Building Bridges between Islamic Sects” Conference
Tomorrow, the Muslim World League (MWL) will organize the international conference “Building Bridges between Islamic Sects” in Mecca. The conference is under the Patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Notably, several prominent Islamic figures, including scholars and muftis from various Islamic sects, will take part in this conference.
Building Bridges between Islamic Sects Conference Objectives & Scope
The conference aims to strengthen understanding and cooperation between Islamic sects through scholarly dialogue, focusing on enhancing relations to serve common goals. Specifically, it seeks to address major issues requiring unity of religious opinion, discouraging sectarian differences and discord.
Building Bridges between Islamic Sects Conference Counters Extremism, Promotes Brotherhood
A key focus of the conference is to counter sectarian extremism which fuels conflicts and undermines Islamic values of fraternity. It emphasizes the sanctity of sectarian identities and rejects any form of disrespect or disparagement towards Islamic sects. Instead, it advocates for engaging with others with the dignity of Islam, promoting truth with evidence, and fostering goodwill among fellow believers.
Documenting Dialogue & Cooperation
Participants aim to produce the “Building Bridges Between Islamic Sects” document as an outcome of their conference deliberations. This document will reflect their discussions on various scientific topics led by distinguished scholars and muftis from the Islamic world. It aims to facilitate further Islamic awareness and cooperation among different sects.
Role of Muslim World League
