Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Attends UN Session on Drought, Land Resilience

Adel Al-Jubeir, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member, and Climate Envoy, took part in a session on drought held Thursday in New York, on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly.

The session, hosted by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, centered on accelerating global efforts for land restoration and strengthening resilience to drought.

Discussions emphasized the urgent need for land rehabilitation and addressing drought as pressing global issues with far-reaching effects on the environment, economies, and public health. The event also highlighted the importance of international cooperation to advance the environmental agenda and support integrated programs and financing that serve both communities and ecosystems.
