Min. of Communications Launches Programs in Generative AI, Self-Employment
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has launched the Freelance and Generative AI programs as part of its efforts to empower national digital capabilities and develop their skills. This initiative aims to integrate them into the journey of innovation and the digital economy while contributing to enhancing the Kingdom’s position as a regional hub for technology and innovation, all within the framework of the Kingdom’s ambitious Vision.

Coursera, National E-Learning Center
These programs are being implemented in partnership with Coursera and the National eLearning Center. The Generative AI program specifically focuses on equipping specialized talents and technical professionals with the necessary skills and tools to generate innovative ideas. It also enhances readiness for advancements in modern technologies and boosts economic gains in innovation and modern technologies through AI.
Freelance Program
The Freelance Program offers training for specialists, job seekers, and business owners, focusing on entrepreneurship in tech and diversifying income sources. It also provides digital skills training to technical graduates, preparing them for freelancing and innovative tech services.
Deputy Minister Ibrahim Al-Nasser emphasized that empowering national talent with cutting-edge digital skills is a strategic priority. This includes equipping them to excel in freelancing and AI, supporting the Kingdom’s vision for a sustainable, innovative digital economy.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Coursera CEO Jeff Maggioncalda stated, “Artificial intelligence is reshaping industries and the way we work. Equipping citizens with digital skills is now essential for success in the digital economy. Our partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is a key investment in Vision 2030. It supports human capital development, prepares the workforce for the future, drives innovation, stimulates economic growth, and helps establish the Kingdom as a global economic leader.”
