“Qatar Tourism” revealed that the country welcomed nearly four million visitors, surpassing the annual number of visitors over the past five years.
Saudi nationals topped the list of visitors to Qatar, accounting for 25.3% of the total number of international visitors, nearly one million visitors, followed by India, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Kuwait.
Visa Procedures, Travel Policies
Qatar previously announced the continuous operation of the “Hayya” platform to unify and facilitate the visa procedures for visitors coming to Qatar. These efforts are complemented by relaxed travel policies, allowing citizens of 95 countries around the world to obtain a visa immediately upon arrival in Qatar.
Qatar as a Global Tourist Destination
Saad bin Ali Al Khurji, head of Qatar Tourism, stressed Qatar’s rise as a global tourist destination. Furthermore, it boasts a wide-ranging, safe tourist infrastructure and authentic Arab hospitality.
Additionally, he noted Qatar’s varied tourism, pristine 500-kilometer coastlines, top-tier museums, and contemporary cultural facilities. Consequently, these elements create a unique holiday experience for both local and regional visitors.
Family Tourism Visitor Demographics
Al Khurji pointed out that “Qatar Tourism” is keen on enhancing family tourism in Qatar, offering experiences suitable for all family members. Qatar Tourism continues to work on enhancing opportunities and achieving more growth in the tourism sector.
Projections for 2024, Cruise Tourism
Indicators for 2024 suggest a continued increase in visitor numbers to Qatar at the same rate. The launch of the cruise season coincided with the arrival of the luxury tourist ship “Crystal Symphony.” It is expected to receive 81 cruise trips.
It also attracts about 350,000 visitors, a significant increase compared to the previous season.
