Manama Dialogue 2023 Continues its Sessions
Manama Dialogue 2023 is continuing with its public sessions which includes participation of numerous political officials and military experts.
Activities of “Manama Dialogue 2023,”
The activities of the 19th Regional Security Summit is in progress. The event, which began on Friday, is sponsored and attended by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister (May God protect him) and involves the participation of more than 450 political, military, security, and academic figures from 40 countries.
The second day of the summit included four public sessions, featuring a number of political officials and military experts.
War, Diplomacy, De-escalation
The first session, titled “War, Diplomacy, and De-escalation,” featured speakers such as; the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan, Mr. Ayman Safadi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Walid Al-Khuraiji, Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa – National Security Council of the United States, Brett McGurk, and Deputy President of the European Commission – European Union, Josep Borrell.
Dealing with Ongoing Global Competition
The second session, titled “Dealing with Ongoing Global Competition,” featured speakers such as; His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Anwar Gargash, and the German Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Tobias Lindner.
Strategic Capabilities
The third session of the second day of the Manama Dialogue 19, titled “Strategic Capabilities,” featured speakers such as; Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Khalid Al-Bayari, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, and Chief of the British Defense Staff, Admiral Tony Radakin.
The second day concluded with a public session titled “New Initiatives for Regional Peace,” featuring speakers such as Prince Turki Al-Faisal Al Saud, Secretary-General of the Arab League, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and the British Minister for the Middle East at the Foreign Office, Lord Tariq Ahmad.
New Policies for Energy Security, Future of the Middle East
The activities of the “Manama Dialogue 2023” conference will continue, with sessions on “New Policies for Energy Security” and “The Future of the Middle East.”
It is worth noting that the Manama Dialogue, held annually since 2004 in the Kingdom of Bahrain and organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), is a fundamental element in the security architecture of the Middle East.
It contributes to bringing together leaders, ministers, and policymakers from the Middle East, North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia to discuss the most pressing regional security issues and share policy responses.
