
The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language took part in a conference on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, hosted by Blanquerna-Ramon Llull University in Spain.
Held from Oct. 18-19 in Barcelona, the conference aimed to exchange experiences, explore language compatibility, and share lessons among framework users, according to Saudi Press Agency.
Abdullah Al-Washmi, the academy’s secretary-general, emphasized the academy’s commitment to enhancing linguistic identity, safeguarding the integrity of the Arabic language, and achieving its fundamental objectives. The event garnered substantial backing from international language organizations, featuring experts who presented significant research papers.
Additionally, the academy participated in the GITEX Global 2024 Exhibition, held from Oct. 14-18 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, to highlight its strategic projects, particularly its linguistic computing initiatives.

Al-Washmi stated that it served as an excellent platform for showcasing innovations that promote the Arabic language through advanced technologies. The academy sought to highlight its initiatives in creating tools and technologies that leverage artificial intelligence to improve the utilization of Arabic across various technological sectors.
