Jeddah Resumes International Show Jumping Championship
International Show Jumping Championship
Jeddah is resuming the International Show Jumping Championship (IST), overseen by the International Equestrian Federation and the Saudi Equestrian Sports Federation.
Notably, the second round of the IST International Show Jumping Championships in Saudi Arabia kicked off in Jeddah yesterday.
The show received notable international acclaim, in the first round, for providing a unique experience for riders, youth, and families alike.
The battle between elite foreign and local riders heats up at the Trio Sports Club, including more than 150 male and female riders, mounted on 200 horses.
Participants in International Show Jumping Championship
The competition intensifies with the participation of prominent names such as:
- The world champion Italian rider Emanuele Gaudiano who ranked 23rd globally.
- The Italian rider Gianluca.
- The Saudi rider Dalma Malhas, who made history as the first woman to represent the Kingdom in the Olympics
- Rider Arwa Mutabagani, a leader in equestrian achievements and championships
- TheSaudi rider Abdullah Sharbatly
- The Saudi rider Meshary Al Harbi
- The Iraqi rider Zaid Al Najafi who secured the Grand Prize in the first round.
Arwa Mutabagani’s Comments on Competition
The chairwoman of the organizing committee for the equestrian championship, Arwa Mutabagani, emphasized the commitment to providing a unique experience for equestrian sports enthusiasts.
Mutabagani pointed out the advanced facilities and a welcoming platform that reflects Saudi Arabia hospitality. She mentioned that the championship is also offering entertainment activities.
Mutabagani confirmed her presence in the competition arena in the second and third rounds of the tournaments. It is worth noting that Mutabagani started her journey in equestrian sports in 1990 at “Trio Sports Club“.
She has trained youth and riders to excel in equestrianism, achieving numerous local and international accomplishments.
Medical Preparation for International Show Jumping Championship
It’s noted that the medical committee conducted a comprehensive medical examination for the participating horses in the championship on Wednesday.
The committee aimed to ensure their readiness and safety for the upcoming competitions.
