The Japanese Embassy in Saudi Arabia organized the Japan Festival in Riyadh 2025 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Japan, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Held on October 31 at the Cultural Palace in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter, the festival brought together several cultural figures, economic leaders, government representatives, and the diplomatic community.

The Japan Festival featured an exceptional blend between traditional and contemporary Japanese cultural performances, including dynamic Wadaiko drumming, captivating Kabuki dance, and Tsugaru Shamisen musical showcases.
Attendees also enjoyed distinctive cultural experiences such as Arabic and Japanese calligraphy, traditional attire, culinary arts, artisanal crafts, along with an exhibition showcasing Japanese companies operating in the Kingdom.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, Japanese Ambassador, Morino Yasunari, underscored that the festival reflects the deep-rooted friendship between Saudi Arabia and Japan.
He also affirmed that both nations are unfolding a new era of cooperation and integration, outlined by the Saudi Vision 2030.
Yasunari expressed his gratitude for the remarkable support that Japanese cultural events receive in the Kingdom, mentioning that such collaboration effectively deepens cultural and people-to-people ties.

Overall, the Japan Festival seeks to foster cultural exchange between the two nations, while highlighting the history of Saudi-Japanese relations since 1955 and their steady development over the decades.
