Israel-Hamas Hostage Deal: Egypt Receives Israeli Hostages

In light of the Israel-Hamas Hostage Deal,  the Israeli hostages have been delivered to the Egyptians, as per Israeli news channels.

As per Israeli sources, the detainees have arrived at Rafah Border Crossing and Egypt is checking their identities, said one of Sky News Arabia correspondents.

Hostage Deal

Qatar announced Thursday evening that the Israel-Hamas Hostage Deal will start Friday. A spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry confirmed that the ceasefire in Gaza would begin at 7 AM local time on Friday.

The first hostage release will be at 4 PM on the same day. The spokesperson detailed that the number of hostages that will be released on the first day is 13 of women and children.

Technical Details Delayed Ceasefire

Last-minute technical hitches delayed the implementation of the short ceasefire and hostage deal between Hamas and Israel. However, mediators confirmed that the plan is proceeding well.

Positive Progress in Ceasefire Talks

Earlier on Thursday, Qatar reported positive progress in discussions regarding the ceasefire implementation plan in Gaza.

Mohammed Al-Ansari, a spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, indicated an imminent announcement of the ceasefire’s start date within the next hours.

Wall Street Journal Reports

According to a Thursday report by the “Wall Street Journal,” Egyptian officials received a list of the first ten hostages to be released by Hamas in the exchange deal with Israel.

Hamas now demands direct transfer of detainees to Egypt. On the other hand, Israel wanted the hostages to be delivered to The Red Crescent first.

Hamas wants to deliver the hostages from Gaza to Egypt using Egypt’s ambulances, as perWall Street Journal.

U.S. National Security Council’s Statement Adrian Watson, spokesperson for the U.S. National Security Council, expressed hope on Thursday for the prisoner release process to begin on Friday morning.

Furthermore, she emphasized that Israel and Hamas are finalizing logistical details of the deal.

Israeli Discovery of Agreement Gaps Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that Israeli officials found gaps in various clauses of the agreement.

However, Hamas insisted on changing several terms, as per the authority. The exact nature of these changes wasn’t specified.
