Intensified Efforts to Finalize King Abdul Aziz Gate in the Haram before Ramadan

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque, the Prophet’s Mosque and the Technical Committee supervising the expansion project of the Grand Mosque have intensified their efforts to complete the King Abdul Aziz Gate development project in the Grand Mosque before next Ramadan.

It pointed out that the finishing works, electrical extensions and civil works are underway around the clock. The General President for the Grand Mosque Affairs and the Prophet’s Mosque, Dr. Abd al-Rahman bin Abd al-Aziz al-Sudais, confirmed that the major expansions of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque are evidence of what the Kingdom’s government attaches to the two honorable sanctuaries.

The Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques Affairs used in the door marble of stainless structures clad with decorated bronze panels, and karara marble at the entrance to the door. It also used locally manufactured marble from the Fatima Valley on either side of the door, and the marble on the inner and outer facades of the King Abdulaziz Gate.

The amount of artificial stone in the first ceiling is 210 m and the second roof is 150 m. The height of the first roof is 22 m in the entrance hall, and the height of the second roof is 13 m through the passage between the gate and the fire court.
