Crown Prince, US Secretary of Defense Discuss Protection Strategy
Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, received a phone call from the US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, during which they reviewed aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them, especially in the field of defense cooperation. In addition they discussed regional developments.
The US Secretary of Defense reiterated the importance of the defense strategic partnership between the two countries, stressing the Kingdom’s pivotal role for the security and stability of the region.
Austin also renewed his country’s condemnation of the Houthi attacks on the Kingdom and affirmed the commitment of the US to assist the Kingdom in defending itself.
The US Secretary of Defense thanked His Highness the Crown Prince for the Kingdom’s efforts to reach a political solution in Yemen, referring to the joint US-Saudi commitment to confront the Iranian regime’s destabilizing activities of security and stability and to defeat terrorist organizations in the region.
