The opening ceremony of 2024 Paris Olympics is currently taking place outside of a stadium for the first time in the first time in Olympic history. Approximately 7,000 athletes are floating down the Seine River on 85 boats.
The ceremony commences at the Austerlitz Bridge and travels 3.7 miles down the river, landing at the Trocadéro near the Eiffel Tower.
Athletes will pass the city’s most prominent landmarks along the way, including the Louvre Museum and Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
At the end of the route, the Olympic flame will be lit, and French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to deliver a speech.
The blue, red and white shooting stars featured the beginning of the ceremony with athletes in boats floating down the River Seine.
Furthermore, Lady Gaga marked the opening musical performance of the ceremony. Celine Dion will perform at some point.

Floating Boats
Many boats will feature multiple countries.
Greek boats enter first and Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of two flag bearers on the nation’s boat.
Each boat receives warm welcome with a bit of a show, as water is spraying along the right side of the river.
Boat No. 5 includes Argentina and Saudi Arabia.
Basketball player LeBron James and tennis player Coco Gauff are the flag bearers for Team USA, celebrating the first time that a basketball player and tennis player have served as the flag bearers for Team USA at the Olympics.
Moreover, 80 artists from the Moulin Rouge perform the iconic dance that dates back to the 1820s.
